Two Cultures Meet in Beaudesert Shire

Muslim Community gets up close with Aboriginal Culture

The International Supreme Head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community recently visited Beaudesert Shire on the weekend. Mirza Masroor Ahmad (Hazur) made a visit to Tamborines Bearded Dragon Boutique Hotel in the beautiful Beaudesert Shire. The visit saw the group take part in several traditional Aboriginal activities such as boomerang throwing and didgireedoo. He also took part in feeding the alpacas and ostrich on site, before heading to the local Ahmadiyya Muslim Community headquarters at Stockleigh. Ahmadiyya Muslim Community ladies president, Abida Mubashar, said Mirza Masroor Ahmad had come to Australia for the communitys annual gathering. The gathering occurs in Sydney during Easter each year she said. Mirza Masroor Ahmad became the International Supreme Head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in 2003.

His role involves leadership of over 200 million people across 178 countries in the world. Before becoming the International Supreme Head, Mirza Masroor Ahmad supported a large number of schools in West Africa. He was the founding principal of the Ahmadiyya Secondary School Salaga and was later appointed the Ahmadiyya Secondary School at Essakyir in the central region of Ghana.

Mirza Masroor Ahmad was also instrumental in growing wheat in Ghana after being appointed the manager of the Ahmadiyya Agricultural Farm in Depali in the northern region of Ghana. It was thought that wheat could not grow in Ghana, but Mirza Masroor Ahmads team of agriculturalists eventually had success and paved the way for Ghana’s self-sufficiency.

The event was a huge success, while only a short overnight visit the early morning activities hosted by a local aboriginal artist, the five star animals and southern cross country tours proved a huge hit with the everyone Monique Gregory Events Organiser for Bearded Dragon Boutique Hotel.
