SCENIC RIM REGION TO BE FEATURED ON NATIONAL MORNING SHOW

THE Scenic Rim region and Boonah in particular, will be beamed onto TV screens in homes across the country this Friday when Channel 7s morning show Sunrise comes to town.
Weather reporter Fifi Box will be in Boonah on Friday making live weather crosses to the shows hosts Mel and Kochie in the Sydney studios all morning from 6am to 9am.
Boonah is one of five finalists in the Sunrise competition - The best town Australias never Heard of and is in the running for $20 000 from Telstra for a community project.
The town was nominated by Allan Reid who lives in Brisbane but has a property at Mt Alford.
Scenic Rim Mayor John Brent said it would be an exciting opportunity for the region and he looked forward to showcasing what the region has to offer to Australia.
This is such an exciting promotional opportunity for Boonah and the Scenic Rim, as well as a chance to win $20 000 for a community project, he said.
We are wholeheartedly ready to welcome Fifi to the region and I extend my thanks to Mr Reid for his surprise nomination of the town.
Boonah Residents are encouraged to attend the live broadcasts between 6-8.30am and show their support for the town on live television. The broadcasts will be made from High Street in Boonah on the council forecourt.
Councils Regional Development department will coordinate the project with Channel 7.
